the most exciting loudspeaker that vienna acoustics has ever created deserves an appropriate form factor. a housing that just by looking at it makes you expect the greatest enjoyment of music, and that shows at a glance the virtuosity that was put into the development of its acoustic performance.

carrying out product design for high-end loudspeakers is a difficult task: to reach the target group the form factor should not look specially shaped, yet should still suggest the acoustic quality and the music sensation which can be expected with precise details.

the technical innovation of the loudspeaker series »klimt« is its revolutionary, flat, concentric 18 centimeter driver.

the sound experts of vienna acoustics placed that driver in a head module that is decoupled from the bass chamber. this head module should be pivotable and inclinable, thus allowing optimal adjustment of the sound to the given room conditions and the point of listening, like the beam of a swivelling flashlight.

a loudspeaker of this class is a valuable piece of furniture, so it is no wonder that it should always look perfect even if its head module is pivoted and inclined, and it should by no means create weight on its pivot mechanics. the GP solution to this is a kind of a double chamber: a pivotable u-profile holds the inclinable head module.

normally the head module won't be changed anymore once it is adjusted. so that the same setting can easily be reproduced on both loudspeakers, they each have a high-tech aluminium mechanism. for the target group, this is also a sign of precision and the highest quality.

high-end loudspeakers are usually heavy due to the acoustic requirements of the sound designer. therefore weight is also a reference to high quality. visually the weight is shown by pushed-in brackets that look like flatbed trucks. these brackets lift the box off the floor to minimize the transfer of structure-borne sound.

the tense delicate shape of the sides of the box visually convey its dynamics and suggest that it is a powerful high-end speaker. again an optical reference for the target group to the high quality of music rendition that can be expected.

»poetry«, the center speaker, and »the kiss«, a stand-mounted version, complete the »klimt« product family. by using different stands for the left, central and right loudspeakers a distinctive shape is achieved, a kind of a triptych. the group completes itself, when fully set up. in that way it lives up to its name.
